Learning Objectives:

1. Name three brain regions involved in trauma
2. Describe the role of the hippocampus in memory formation, and how the hippocampus can make memory errors
3. Identify at least three ways EMDR has been shown to change the brain in the direction of health
4. Explain how desensitization and reprocessing facilitate memory reconsolidation after trauma
5. Learn bilateral stimulation (eye movements) that can be used to help desensitize negative cognitions and reconsolidate traumatic memories
6. Learn and practice resource tapping for stabilization
7. State the eight phases of the Original 8-Phase Model of EMDR
