Green Bay Nutcracker Ballet
Presented by NE Wisconsin Dance Organization
Experience the magic of Christmas in NEWDO's production of the Nutcracker, a fully staged ballet set to the gorgeous music of Tchaikovsky, at the historic Meyer Theatre this Thanksgiving weekend.
The Nutcracker fairy tale ballet centers on a family's Christmas Eve celebration. Clara receives a handsome toy nutcracker as a Christmas gift. In her dreams that night, the nutcracker and other toys come alive. Battles, rescues and travels to enchanted lands ensue! Captivating dances bring to life songs like The Waltz of the Flowers and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. As Clara and the nutcracker are transformed, so too are NEWDO's 98 local dancers, who share the stage with professional dancers from around the country. Green Bay native Randi Osetek returns from the Carolina Ballet to dance the Sugar Plum Fairy, with Stephen Hanna, Broadway and New York City Ballet performer who returns as the Cavalier. Janel Meindersee and Erik Johnson of the Milwaukee Ballet will once again enthrall audiences as the adult Clara and Nutcracker Prince. Green Bay’s Eva Chronert returns from Pennsylvania Youth Ballet to dance as the Snow Queen. Additional featured dancers include: Curt Christnot, Diane Danhieux, Angie Flanagan, Scott Ronsmans and Kristen Throne.
Make this beautiful and timeless production of the Green Bay Nutcracker Ballet a magical highlight of your holiday season!
