WINE: Behind The Curtain - A Meyer Theatre Fundraiser
Charlotte Sometimes will perform
Who wouldn’t want to feel the Meyer Theatre from the very spot that Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole did when they once gazed into the seats of the beautiful Green Bay playhouse? Everyone will have the chance to feel the awesome experience of standing on stage Saturday, March 16, 6pm-9pm for a new wine tasting fundraiser at the Meyer and for the Meyer called WINE: Behind The Curtain.
On this night the spotlight will be on the audience as patrons overtake the stage and every other part of the theater during a fun-filled, wine and cuisine pairing evening. With the same intimacy that this gathering space offers, more than 25 winery aficionados, winemakers, and winery tasting room hospitality workers will be pouring samples of white, red, rosé, and dessert wines, paired with cuisine from area restaurateurs that serve those very same labels. A fun, un-snobby approach to wine will be taken, and participants are encouraged to ask those tough questions of one of the four winemakers that will be pouring their finest vintages in a Riedel wine glass.
The event will serve the curious person well; it will take place in every part of the building, in addition to standing behind the curtain, patrons can plan to peek into the organ room, see the sound and light booths, and get a behind the scenes tour.
During the wine and cuisine tasting, entertainment will come in the form of café jazz by the Stellanovas from Madison. Their intimate, swinging, original, dynamic music accompanied by unique instrumentation including the violin, Hawaiian guitar, drums, electric guitar, ukulele, cello, accordion and vocals offers originals plus inventive interpretations of classic jazz standards and eclectic pop tunes. After the tasting, attendees can sit and enjoy a performance by Charlotte Sometimes, a contestant on the second season of NBC’s “The Voice.”
This event is sponsored by De Leers Construction, Captain’s Walk Winery, von Stiehl Winery, Harbor Ridge Winery, PMI Entertainment Group, Arketype, Festival Foods, and Schneider National Foundation.
Tickets are $35 and include a free Reidel wine glass
