Kristen Graves is a singer/songwriter and humanitarian originally from Green Bay, currently living in Fairfield, CT. Kristen has been listed as part of the “new generation of folk music” in the New York Times and mentioned in Rolling Stone for her music’s environmental activism. In 2015, the Governor of Connecticut [Dan Malloy] presented her with her own day to honor the arts, compassion and social justice, and now throughout the state of Connecticut, December 15, is officially Kristen Graves Day. She has shared the stage with Rusted Root, Dar Williams, Peter Yarrow [of Peter, Paul & Mary], and the late Pete Seeger.
With catchy songs, a penchant for story telling, and inspiring lyrics, Kristen performs nearly 200 shows a year throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America and Europe. She has 8 studio recordings available and her next album is due in early spring, 2017.
Coming for the first time to Backstage at the Meyer, she’ll be performing her own original songs as well as some classic folk sing-alongs. Promoting her signature message of positivity, unity and kindness, this is an evening you won’t want to miss!
